Sruthi Hariharan begins shooting for her comeback after motherhood

Actress Sruthi Hariharan, who was last seen in Aadya and had taken a short break following the pregnancy and birth of her daughter Janaki, is back to shoot for her new film. This film, which marks a comeback of sorts, is the directorial debut of actor Surya Vasishta, who was part of the making team of Roopa Rao’s Gantumoote, where he had essayed a role too. Sruthi recently took to her social media to reveal that she is back on the sets of a film after a long time and she is thrilled in a way like none other.

Earlier, in an interview with Bangalore Times, Surya had spoken about this film and had said, “This is a film that I had written a while ago. I had, in fact, pitched it to Sruthi way back in 2016, and she had agreed to be a part of it. Unfortunately, the film did not take off then. And then Sruthi got busy with other commitments, marriage and motherhood. Now that she is set to return to films, I am glad that we are also ready to roll and Sruthi gets to play the protagonist in it. She plays a dancer named Maya, who is also a realist. The film has an ensemble cast that includes Deepak SubramanyaShweta Gupta, Ravi Bhat, Ram Manjjonath, Pruthvi Banwasi and me. The story follows the emotional journeys, turmoils and the path to closure for these characters.”

Sruthi, who has won a hat trick of sorts with three awards in three successive years at Filmfare South for the past three years, says she wants to take the leap back into cinema slowly as she wants her daughter Janaki to get used to her being away on the sets of films.
