Surya Vasishta to talk about storytelling at BLT’s ‘Let’s Talk Art’

Artistes, story telling and budding filmmakers get to hear actor-director Surya Vasishta talk about his journey, storytelling and more as he takes part in Bangalore Little Theatre‘s Let’ Talk Art series. The theatre group was seen sharing the news with their followers and theatre enthusiasts.

Surya Vasishta is an actor-director with a decade of experience in storytelling in various forms. An engineer by qualification, he took the entrepreneurial route right out of college and founded a web design company in 2006, which in 2011 became a digital media private limited company called Tiramisu New Media Solutions. He also co-founded HomeTalkies in 2011 with Pawan Kumar and was closely involved in the successful crowdfunding of Lucia. He founded Astu Studios in 2017 to focus more on his storytelling.

He has worked in both English and Kannada theatre. His first stint with facing the camera happened in 2008 with Vinu Balanja’s directorial ‘Jogula’. He went on to assist Agni Shridhar the following year in State Award-winning Shivrajkumar starer ‘Tamassu’.

Following this, he played the lead in ‘Bhagwan Sri Shirdi Sai Baba’ under the direction of Bukkapatna Vasu. His filmography includes Lucia, U-Turn, Satyavati (Hindi), Badmaash, Gantumoote & Shivaji Surathkal. He has also directed over a hundred corporate films for many Corporate brands and handled post-production for international talk shows that have aired on Star and Colors feeds in over hundred countries.

He was also seen as Arjuna in Red Polka Productions’ play ‘Chitraa’, a Rabindranath Tagore classic directed by Prataya Saha and Shatarupa Bhattacharyya.

The talk is set for 28th November at 6 pm where Surya Vashista takes us in his personal process of writing and directing a film, his take the film industry and how important it is to take risk in his own artistic journey.
